TAIWAN PEDAL.3602026
Ten stages. One thousand kilometres. Two Rhinos on bicycles circumnavigating Taiwan. The adventure continues, just with fewer cylinders.
ENTER EXPEDITION →EST. 2007 · TWO FRIENDS. MANY ROADS. ZERO REGRETS.
From the Mongolian steppe to the Saharan dunes, adventure travel documented honestly, with rust, dust, and occasional mild peril.
WHO ARE THE RUSTY RHINOS?
The Rusty Rhinos are a two-person adventure travel team. A pair of school friends who decided, back in 2007, that driving a battered car to Mongolia sounded like a reasonable thing to do.
Since then we've crossed deserts, navigated dodgy borders, bribed our way past checkpoints, and somehow made it home each time. These pages document all of it: the planning, the chaos, and the miles in between.

THE EXPEDITIONS
Ten stages. One thousand kilometres. Two Rhinos on bicycles circumnavigating Taiwan. The adventure continues, just with fewer cylinders.
ENTER EXPEDITION →Ten years on from Beijing, 5,061 miles from London to Morocco and back. Same dust, new stories, and the occasional unscheduled detour.
ENTER EXPEDITION →8,100 miles. 11 countries. One 50 year old car, driven from London to Beijing, where getting lost is half the point and strangers keep saving the day.
ENTER EXPEDITION →5,633 miles from London to the Western Sahara. But first, a broken engine in France, an extraordinary cast of rescuers, and a relaunch against the odds.
ENTER EXPEDITION →5,200 miles in 17 days. Stuck on a beach, lost in the High Atlas, and navigating sand dunes in the dark with a snapped chassis. The 'tamer' trip that really wasn't.
ENTER EXPEDITION →6,000 miles in 24 days, half of them through the Sahara, alongside the Desert Bunnies and their rather more powerful Range Rover. The trip where you hesitate before eating a biscuit in case it has sand in it.
ENTER EXPEDITION →London to Ulaanbaatar in 26 days. Lost in the Kazakh desert, a car that shouldn't have got past the Dartford Crossing, and a policeman in the middle of nowhere threatening to deport us.
