The Moroccan Rally 2024
Ten years on from Beijing, 5,061 miles from London to Morocco and back. Same dust, new stories, and the occasional unscheduled detour.
The Expedition
The Return to Morocco
Our sixth charity rally, and the first in ten years since Beijing 2014. 13 days on the road, starting from London through France and Spain, then deep into Morocco, across the Atlas mountains, into the Sahara, and eventually back again.
The Moroccan Rally 2024 launched from Tower Bridge on the 31st of May 2024. Over 13 days we drove 5,061 miles (8,098 km) through 4 countries, averaging 389 miles per day. The route took us across Europe, into Morocco via the Ceuta ferry, down through the Atlas mountains and deep into the Sahara, then home again via Spain and France. There may or may not have been a few unscheduled detours along the way. Our compass would have settled the matter, had it not gone missing somewhere near Chefchaouen.
The whole journey was run in Red, our trusty 1964 Land Rover, raising funds for Crisis, the UK homelessness charity. Red made it home in one piece. Mostly.
