For six rallies the Rusty Rhinos formula was reassuringly familiar: Red, remote roads, questionable decisions, excellent stories and supporting a charity close to our hearts. For our seventh, we swapped the Land Rover for bicycles.
The Taiwan Pedal.3602026 is our first human-powered adventure. 1,004 kilometres circumnavigating the island of Taiwan, broken into 10 stages across 12 days. No engine, no fuel stops, no breakdowns, just legs, lungs and a stubborn refusal to give up on hills.
The route hugs the coast where it can, climbs over the central mountain range where it has to, and tests every piece of kit we've ever packed. This is the Rusty Rhinos adventure, reimagined for two wheels. The spirit is the same. The distance, somehow, feels longer.
